I have been a wedding photographer in St Louis for over 10 years now. I thought I had seen and experienced it all, but I was wrong. March weather is always unpredictable, but this was a new one for me. See, I was in Las Vegas at a conference getting ready to board a flight to Boston for a wedding I was shooting in New Hampshire. When I arrived at the airport, I found out all flights were cancelled due to a nor’easter hitting the east coast. Soonest they could get me in was Sunday night. Well, shit, that wasn’t going to work, the wedding was Saturday morning. My bride and groom, as cool about things as could be. She said, “don’t worry about it, I understand if you can’t get here.”
Weather be damned. I was not missing this wedding.
The journey soon began. Got on the last flight of the night to an airport in upstate New York – arrived 12:30am. They lost my luggage – I know, I am not making this up. We then had a 5 hour drive to New Hampshire. We got a few hours of sleep and were at it! I had to tell my bride that I did not have clothes and was wearing the same clothes I had on for the last 24 hours – her response, priceless. “I don’t care if Sal shows up in a chicken suit, as long as he is here to document my day!” This is my kind of bride for sure.
The day was amazing! Scott and Kristin are two people in love and they were surrounded by the people that matter most, their family. It was an honor to be able to document their big wedding day. We created some incredible images for sure.
